Parliament ratified convention of seamen's identification cards

The deputies of the Senate of Parliament of Kazakhstan at the plenary session today passed the law on ratification of the convention reconsidering the convention dated 1958 on seamen's ID cards (the convention №185), the agency reports.

Astana. February 25. Kazakhstan Today - The deputies of the Senate of Parliament of Kazakhstan at the plenary session today passed the law on ratification of the convention reconsidering the convention dated 1958 on seamen's ID cards (the convention №185), the agency reports.

According to the conclusion of the Senate Committee for Economic and Regional Policy, participation of Kazakhstan in the convention will give a possibility of recognition of ID's of seamen of Kazakhstan in the territory of other states. Realization of the convention's positions regarding creation of the national electronic database of the Coordination Centre and acquisition of the necessary equipment for manufacturing and control of identification cards of seamen will demand financial expenses from the republican budget in the sum of 120 million KZT.

Earlier, the Minister of Transport and Communications of Kazakhstan, Abelgazi Kusainov, informed, "As of today, the convention has been ratified by more than 15 countries, including the near-Caspian states."
