Parliament ratified Convention on Safety and Hygiene of Labor in Construction

Astana. May 29. Kazakhstan Today - Today at the plenary session of the Senate the deputies adopted the law on ratification of the Convention on Safety and Hygiene of Labor in Construction (Convention 167)," the agency reports.

The Convention was accepted in Geneva on June 20, 1988. 18 member states of the International Labor Organization ratified the Convention.

According to the resolution of the Majilis Committee for International Affairs, Defense and Security that has been announced at the plenary session of the Chamber, "having ratified the Convention, Kazakhstan will confirm importance of international cooperation and improvement of life and health of workers and the adherence to observance and performance of the international norms in this sphere."

According to the resolution, "each country ratifying the Convention undertakes, on the basis of estimation of possible risks for safety and hygiene of work, will accept and keep in force the legislation or rules, which provide application of the regulations of the Convention ".

The law has been forwarded to the President for his signature.
