Parliament ratified European Cultural Convention

The deputies of the Senate of Parliament of Kazakhstan at the plenary session passed the law on ratification of the European Cultural Convention, the agency reports.

Astana. November 25. Kazakhstan Today - The deputies of the Senate of Parliament of Kazakhstan at the plenary session passed the law on ratification of the European Cultural Convention, the agency reports.

According to the conclusion of the Senate Committee for Welfare Development, the purpose of the bill is ratification of the convention signed in Paris on December 19, 1954. Joining the convention will promote integration of Kazakhstan into world cultural space by granting conditions for studying of the languages, history, and culture of the European states.

The convention establishes legal principles of protection of objects having European cultural value and provides reasonable access to them.

According to the Responsible Secretary of the Ministry of Culture and Information of Kazakhstan, Janna Kurmangalieva, the convention participants are 49 states. "Ratification the convention will allow Kazakhstan experts to participate in the work of special committees and working groups of the Council of Europe on a wide range of questions."
