Astana. October 3. Kazakhstan Today - Possibilities of cooperation of Kazakhstan and Latvia are not realized to their full potential. The President of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev, said today during the expanded negotiations taken place during the official visit of the President of the Latvian Republic, Valdis Zatlersa, the agency reports.

"Kazakhstan considers Latvia an important economic partner in the Baltic region. We have not realized all the cooperation potential we have," N. Nazarbayev said.

He reminded that commodity turnover between Kazakhstan and Latvia last year increased by 9.5 %, having made, according to the Kazakhstan party, $200 million. "In the first half of 2008 commodity turnover has reached $174 million. It is good growth, but our economic potential allows us to reach better parameters," N. Nazarbayev emphasized.

"We observe dynamical growth of the economies of Kazakhstan and Latvia that will provide due conditions for development of our relations," the President of Kazakhstan said.
