Presidency of Kazakhstan in OSCE to strengthen cooperation between East and West - Kazakhstan State Secretary

Presidency of Kazakhstan in the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) in 2010 will strengthen cooperation between the East and the West. Astana. May 27. Kazakhstan Today - Presidency of Kazakhstan in the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) in 2010 will strengthen cooperation between the East and the West. The State Secretary of Kazakhstan Kanat Saudabayev stated his opinion today during the international scientific-practical conference Eurasian Doctrine of N. A. Nazarbayev: the East - West Dialogue, the agency reports.

"We have a rare opportunity to strengthen dialogue between the East and the West being OSCE chairman in 2010," K. Saudabayev stated.

He noted that the concept - the East includes OSCE member countries to the east from Vienna as well the countries of the Muslim east." "In this connection, we plan to strengthen and keep unity of the OSCE, to make the organization even more relevant for the new conditions arisen after the end of the Cold War," he emphasized.

"Our common goal is transformation of OSCE to the organization, which in practice would overcome dividing lines, showing greater mutual understanding and trust among its participants. We will promote expansion of cooperation of this authoritative Euro-Atlantic structure with the Islamic world," K. Saudabayev said.

"Our country can become the bridge to connect the West and the East, will help to find common things, and will promote better understanding of one another," the State Secretary concluded.
