President arrives in Atyrau region

During the visit, the President made reshuffles in the leadership of the region. The head of state introduced the Atyrau region governor candidate Baktykozha Izmukhambetov to the regional council. From August 2007 to January 2012 Izmukhambetov served as the Governor of the West Kazakhstan region, before which he had headed the Kazakh Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources. His previous position was Deputy Speaker of the Majilis.

Almaty. August 16. Kazakhstan Today - President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev has paid a working visit to the Atyrau region, Kazakhstan Today reports.

According to Caspionet, during the visit, the President made reshuffles in the leadership of the region. The head of state introduced the Atyrau region governor candidate Baktykozha Izmukhambetov to the regional council. From August 2007 to January 2012 Izmukhambetov served as the Governor of the West Kazakhstan region, before which he had headed the Kazakh Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources. His previous position was Deputy Speaker of the Majilis. Bergei Ryskaliyev, who has been in charge of the Atyrau region over the recent years, thanked the President for the confidence and wished the new leader of the region success in such an important post.

During a meeting with activists of the Atyrau region, the President focused on the efforts aimed at improving the social well-being of ordinary citizens. For ten years, the region has built 25 new schools, six out-patient clinics, a maternity hospital and repaired district hospitals. There are still a lot of important projects ahead.

"Over the past decade, the Atyrau region budget has increased by 4 times to reach 174 billion tenge this year. The region is conducting extensive work to upgrade utilities and social infrastructure and improve the comfort level of life. All populated areas are gasified to date, while the share of the population with access to clean drinking water has almost doubled. It is a great job that lays the foundation for further development of the region," Nursultan Nazarbayev stated.

"Dear President, your words saying that together we are going into the future, inspires and unites us all. These words will forever remain in our hearts, and we will pass this precept on to the youth. We will be with you to continue to promote the image of Kazakhstan, and work as much as we can. We are proud of this," Millyat Sabirova, Labour Veteran said.
