President assigned to complete first stage of Koksaray counterregulator by January 1, 2010
Astana. September 24. Kazakhstan Today - The President of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev, has assigned to complete the first stage of construction of Koksaray counterregulator by January 1, 2010. The President of the country gave the assignment on September 23 during his working trip to the South Kazakhstan area when he was visiting the construction objects in the region, the agency reports citing the press service of the Emergency Ministry of Kazakhstan.
According to the press service, "N. Nazarbayev has assigned to complete the first stage of Koksaray counterregulator by January 1, 2010 and to accept floodwaters of a volume of 1 cubic kilometer."
According to the Emergency Ministry, the meeting on the course of realization of the investment project Construction of Koksaray Counterregulator on Syr-Darya of the South Kazakhstan area was held with participation of the head of the state on September 23.
The Minister of Emergency, V. Bozhko assured the President of Kazakhstan that the first stage of construction of the counterregulator will be finished on time, by January 1, 2010.
