President charged Minister of Education to assess necessity of transition to 12-year education

The President of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev, has assigned the Minister of Education and Science of Kazakhstan, Zhanseit Tuymebaev, to assess the necessity of transition to 12-year education, the agency reports citing the president's press service.

Astana. April 2. Kazakhstan Today - The President of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev, has assigned the Minister of Education and Science of Kazakhstan, Zhanseit Tuymebaev, to assess the necessity of transition to 12-year education, the agency reports citing the president's press service.

According to the press service, "Z.Tuymebaev reported on the course of realization of the state programs of education development for 2005 - 2010, technical and vocational training for 2008 - 2012, and science for 2007 - 2012." The officials also discussed possibility of transition of secondary education to a 12-year education.

"During the meeting the officials considered perspective directions of development of the area of education and science till 2020, including in the context of formation of competitive human resources. The President has given the assignments on realization of the educational and scientific projects as well as integration of the Kazakhstan educational system into world educational space," the message states.
