President declared OSCE Astana Declaration adopted

The President of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev, declared today ,following the results of the summit of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), adoption of the Astana Declaration of the summit, the agency reports.

Astana. December 3. Kazakhstan Today - The President of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev, declared today ,following the results of the summit of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), adoption of the Astana Declaration of the summit, the agency reports.

"First of all, I would like to thank all of you for the valuable contribution to preparation of the final document of the OSCE summit of 2010 and the constructive approach towards coordination of the declaration of the summit," N. Nazarbayev said.

"The OSCE member states confirmed their full adherence to the charter of the United Nations Organization and all the norms, principles, and obligations, accepted at the summit, beginning with the Helsinki Final Act."

This includes all 10 principles containing in the Helsinki Final Act:

1. Sovereign equality, respect for the rights inherent in sovereignty;

2. Refraining from the threat or use of force;

3. Inviolability of frontiers;

4. Territorial integrity of states;

5. Peaceful settlement of disputes;

6. Non-intervention in internal affairs;

7. Respect for human rights and fundamental freedoms, including the freedom of thought, conscience, religion or belief;

8. Equal rights and self-determination of peoples;

9. Cooperation among states;

10. Fulfilment in good faith of obligations under international law.
