President of Kazakhstan met NATO Secretary General

The President of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev, held the meeting with NATO Secretary General, Jaap de Hoop Sheffer, who arrived in Kazakhstan to participate in Third Security Forum of Euro-Atlantic Partnership Council (EAPC), the agency reports.

Astana. June 24. Kazakhstan Today - The President of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev, held the meeting with NATO Secretary General, Jaap de Hoop Sheffer, who arrived in Kazakhstan to participate in Third Security Forum of Euro-Atlantic Partnership Council (EAPC), the agency reports.

NATO Secretary General said at the briefing that all range of questions, concerning relations of Kazakhstan and NATO, was discussed during the meeting with the head of the state.

"We have, of course, discussed mutual relations between Kazakhstan and NATO and especially Afghanistan issue," J. Sheffer informed.

According to NATO Secretary General, during the meeting with the President of Kazakhstan, they discussed such questions, as non-proliferation of weapons of mass destruction and financial and economic crisis.
