President of Russia met Ministers for Foreign Affairs of SCO states

The President of Russia, Dmitry Medvedev, met Ministers for Foreign Affairs of the SCO member states, the agency reports citing the official site of the President of the Russian Federation.

Almaty. May 18. Kazakhstan Today - The President of Russia, Dmitry Medvedev, met Ministers for Foreign Affairs of the SCO member states, the agency reports citing the official site of the President of the Russian Federation.

According to the site, the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Russia, Kazakhstan, China, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan arrived in Moscow to participate in the session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of SCO member states.

During the meeting the officials will discuss the results of the session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of SCO member states, preparation for the session of the Council of the leaders of SCO member states that will take place in Ekaterinburg in June of 2009.

The officials also exchanged opinions on condition and prospects of expansion of cooperation of the SCO states and the main and strategic objectives regarding further consolidation of the association and improvement of its activities.

D. Medvedev emphasized that the meeting of Foreign Ministers of the SCO member states and the meeting of Ministers of Defense taken place on April, 29th, 2009 are mandatory events before the SCO summit.
