President of Russian Federation approved foreign policy concept of Russia

The President of the Russian Federation, Dmitry Medvedev, approved the concept of foreign policy of Russia, the agency reports referring to the official site of the President of Russia on Wednesday.

Almaty. July 17. Kazakhstan Today - The President of the Russian Federation, Dmitry Medvedev, approved the concept of foreign policy of Russia, the agency reports referring to the official site of the President of Russia on Wednesday.

"The center of international relations and coordination of world politics in XXI century should remain in the United Nations, which have proved its unique legitimacy," the concept states. He emphasized that Russia supports efforts on strengthening of its central and coordinating role."

"The main priority of the Russian Federation policy in the sphere of international economic relations is assistance to development of the national economy in conditions of globalization by ensuring equal in rights positions of the country and the Russian business in the world system," the document informs.

"A priority direction of foreign policy of Russia is development of bilateral and multilateral cooperation with CIS member states," the document emphasizes. "Russia actively promotes development of cooperation with CIS member states in humanitarian sphere on the basis of preservation and augmentation of the common cultural and civilization heritage, which in conditions of globalization, is the important resource of the CIS countries as a whole and of each of its member states.

Russia intends "to actively work within the Eurasian Economic Community (EurAsEC) with Belarus and Kazakhstan over creation of the Customs Union and unified economic space, to assist entrance of other EurAsEC member states."

"Russia has negative attitude towards NATO expansion, in particular the plans of acceptance in alliance membership of Ukraine and Georgia and to approaching of NATO military infrastructure the Russian borders that violates the principle of equal security, leads to new separating lines in Europe, and contradicts the goals of increase of efficiency of the joined work in search of answers to the actual challenges of the present," the document emphasizes.
