President sent condolence telegram to Italian President

The head of the state, Nursultan Nazarbayev, sent a condolence telegram to the President of the Italian Republic, Georgio Napolitano, in connection with the earthquake in the central part of Italy, the agency reports citing the president's press service.

Astana. April 8. Kazakhstan Today - The head of the state, Nursultan Nazarbayev, sent a condolence telegram to the President of the Italian Republic, Georgio Napolitano, in connection with the earthquake in the central part of Italy, the agency reports citing the president's press service.

As informed earlier, the earthquake hit the central part of Italy on April, 6th early in the morning. The epicenter was near L'Aquila city located in the mountain Abruzzo region in 110 kilometers to the northeast from Rome.

According to the American Geological Service, the earthquake magnitude was 6.3 points on the Richter scale; however, representatives of the Italian National Institute of Geophysics informed the earthquake's magnitude was 5.8 points. Tremors were felt in the majority of the cities of the central part of the country, including Rome.
