President signed an electricity ensuring law

The law made amendments to the Civil Code, Administrative Code, laws on natural monopolies and regulated markets, as well as electricity.

Astana. July 5. Kazakhstan Today - President Nursultan Nazarbayev signed the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan "On making amendments and addenda to some legislative acts of the Republic of Kazakhstan on issues of electricity, the investment activities of natural monopolies and regulated market", Kazakhstan Today reports.

According to the press service of the President, the law aims to ensuring the needs of the country's economy in electricity, as well as to increase transparency of the investment activity of power plants, natural monopolies and entities regulated market.

The law made amendments to the Civil Code, Administrative Code, laws on natural monopolies and regulated markets, as well as electricity.

The bill is aimed at ensuring the needs of the economy of Kazakhstan in the energy and power market through implementation of electric power market, which would allow for the introduction of new electrical capacity and the program of industrial-innovative development of the republic.

Moreover, energy suppliers, energy transmission organizations and consumers who are the subjects of the wholesale electricity market, shall have the duty to participate in the market of electric power on the basis of concluded agreements with the system operator for the provision of services to ensure the availability of electrical power to bear the load, except for their own electric power generating sources consumers.
