President signed decree on strengthening national security

The President of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev, signed the decree on the measures of strengthening of national security of the Republic of Kazakhstan and further improvement of the work of intelligence services, the agency reports citing the president's press service.

Astana. February 18. Kazakhstan Today - The President of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev, signed the decree on the measures of strengthening of national security of the Republic of Kazakhstan and further improvement of the work of intelligence services, the agency reports citing the president's press service.

"According to the decree, Foreign Intelligence Service Syrbar has been formed as the state body directly subordinate and accountable to the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, taking into account realization of the Strategy of National Security for 2007 - 2012, strengthening of national safety, and optimization of the structure of special services of Kazakhstan," the press service informs.

"The decree also abolishes Barlau service of the National Security Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan," the press service informs.

"The government of the Republic of Kazakhstan has been assigned to undertake measures on material and financial maintenance of the work of Kazakhstan Foreign Intelligence Service Syrbar and along with the interested state bodies in three-monthly term to develop and submit for consideration of Majilis of Parliament the bills on foreign intelligence investigation and on introduction of amendments and additions to the Acts of the Republic of Kazakhstan on national security."
