President suggests creating new inter-regional organization - Turkic Council

The President of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev, during the ninth summit of the leaders of Turkic-speaking countries initiated creation of the new inter-regional organization - Turkic Council, the agency reports citing the president's press service.

Astana. October 5. Kazakhstan Today - The President of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev, during the ninth summit of the leaders of Turkic-speaking countries initiated creation of the new inter-regional organization - Turkic Council, the agency reports citing the president's press service.

According to the press service, N. Nazarbayev took part in the ninth summit of the leaders of Turkic-speaking states, which took place in Nahchyvan (the Azerbaijan Republic). "The Presidents of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev, Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, Kyrgyzstan, Kurmanbek Bakiev, and Turkey, Abdulla Gul, met to discuss the prospects of development of partnership of the countries that have common ethnic, historical and cultural roots."

During the summit, N. Nazarbayev initiated creation of the new inter-regional organization - Turkic Council.

"The President said the Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic-speaking states was created to implement the decisions to create Turkic structures accepted at VIII summit in Antalya (Turkish Republic), the Parliaments of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Turkey."

"The President of Kazakhstan also designated the most perspective directions of cooperation in economy, development of ecological safety, and cultural-humanitarian sphere."
