President took part in opening ceremony of museum complex Algeria

Astana. May 31. Kazakhstan Today - The President of the state Nursultan Nazarbayev took part in the opening ceremony of the memorial-museum complex to the memory of victims of political repressions Algeria in Akmola oblast, the agency reports.

"Our primary goal - further strengthening of transparent, democratic and lawful state harmoniously combined with both conventional democratic values and traditions of our multinational society. It is the main guarantee of impossibility of recurrence of similar tragedies in the future," the Kazakhstan leader concluded.

The museum-complex Algeria was created by the decision of Astana akimat (mayor office) on February 26, 2007. The author of the idea of the memorial complex is an architect Taken Narynov. The expositions of the museum contain archival documents, photo and video data, reports of interrogations, execution orders, and personal possessions of political prisoners.
