Presidents of Kazakhstan and Brazil accepted joint statement on a wide range of issues

The President of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev, and the President of Brazil, Luis Inasiu Lula da Silva, accepted the joint statement on a wide range of issues in Akorda, the agency reports.

Astana. June 17. Kazakhstan Today - The President of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev, and the President of Brazil, Luis Inasiu Lula da Silva, accepted the joint statement on a wide range of issues in Akorda, the agency reports.

"Our country considers Brazil as a perspective foreign policy and trading partner," N. Nazarbayev said.

"Kazakhstan and Brazil have established top-level confidential dialogue. Our economic relations are actively developing. Goods turnover between Kazakhstan and Brazil is $275 million.

The head of the state noted that "the best practices of Brazil in aviation, tourism, agriculture and energy are of great importance for Kazakhstan."

According to N. Nazarbayev, Kazakhstan and Brazil have common agenda in the international issues.

In this context, the leaders of the states have confirmed their positions in favor to transformation of the UN Security Council to guarantee greater participation of the developing countries, as both permanent and non-permanent members that will make the council more legitimate and effective.

The President of Brazil has thanked Kazakhstan for support to the Brazilian party to become a permanent member of the UN Security Council.

The parties have confirmed importance of the international initiatives in the field of disarmament, non-proliferation of nuclear weapons and peaceful resolution of conflicts.

The heads of the states have supported strengthening of multilateral trading system and have expressed intention to create favorable conditions for further activization of cooperation between business circles of two countries and development of trade and economic and investment cooperation.

N. Nazarbayev informed that Kazakhstan and Brazil support reforming of the world financial system. "The results of the negotiations demonstrate aspiration of our countries to strengthen cooperation in economic, cultural and humanitarian areas," the President of Kazakhstan said.

The President of Brazil confirmed an interest in cooperation with Kazakhstan in oil, aircraft construction, and bio fuel manufacture areas.
