Presidents of Kazakhstan and Macedonia discussed bilateral cooperation

Following the results of the meeting the parties signed several documents, in particular, double taxation treaty, treaty on encouragement and mutual protection of investments, agreement on trade and economic cooperation between the governments, etc.

Astana. July 3. Kazakhstan Today - The Head of State Nursultan Nazarbayev and the President of Macedonia George Ivanov discussed a wide range of issues of bilateral cooperation on Monday in Astana, Kazakhstan Today reports.

"Nursultan Nazarbayev and George Ivanov discussed a wide range of issues of bilateral cooperation, the international agenda and identified key areas for further collaboration. They exchanged their views on the situation in Europe, the Middle East and Afghanistan. Besides, the issues of energy and regional security, as well as possible consequences of the global financial crisis, were discussed", the press service of the President of Kazakhstan informed.

The sides discussed possibilities of cooperation in the spheres of energy, transport, agriculture, youth policy, tourism, and pharmaceuticals. Nursultan Nazarbayev and his counterpart outlined a package of measures aimed at enhancing trade and economic cooperation. Nursultan Nazarbayev noted that the level of bilateral relations in this area remains low and does not meet the economic potential of the two countries.
