Presidents of Kazakhstan and Russia visited new central mosque in Aktobe

About 12 thousand Aktobe citizens came to meet the Presidents of two countries.

"This mosque, as well as the orthodox church of the oblast, was erected within a short period of time," the main mufti of the country, Absattar kazhy Derbisali, said addressing the people. 33-year-old Baurzhan Esmakhan was appointed new imam of the mosque. He is also imam of the Aktobe oblast.

Total cost of construction reached 1.7 billion KZT. The mosque, at the request of Aktobe citizens, has been decided to be named Nurgasyr, which is translated into Russian as "Light Century."

The Aktobe regional mosque constructed due to charity donations and is unique in Kazakhstan. The Russian architect, Aybar Saparov, is the architect of the mosque, constructed as the analogue of the mosque Kul-sheriff in Kazan.

Total area of the building is 392 square meters, more than 38 meters in height with four minarets - 63 meters.
