Astana. January 14. Kazakhstan Today - The Prime Minister of Kazakhstan, Karim Masimov, considers deflation a problem of 2009. The Prime Minister of Kazakhstan, Karim Masimov, stated at the session of the board of the Ministry of Agriculture, the agency reports.

"Last year in January... We had a different problem when the prices for food grew rapidly. Since autumn of 2007, we have had inflation. This was our main task - not to admit an unreasonable increase of prices," K. Masimov said. "The problem of 2009 is not inflation and, most likely, deflation," he said.

"We, during 2009 and 2010, will see not unreasonable growth, but, most likely, falling of the prices." "We will need to support our manufacturers so that they do not go bankrupt during this period and, on the contrary, will help them to observe, first, rules of worthy competition in our home market and, secondly, not to lose foreign markets," the Prime Minister added.
