Prime Minister familiarized with course of civil work in Aktau airport

During his working trip to Mangistau oblast, the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan, Karim Masimov, after the arrival at the international airport of Aktau, familiarized with the course of construction of the passenger terminal and reconstruction of a runway of the airport, the agency reports.

Kazakhstan Today - During his working trip to Mangistau oblast, the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan, Karim Masimov, after the arrival at the international airport of Aktau, familiarized with the course of construction of the passenger terminal and reconstruction of a runway of the airport, the agency reports.

According to the Prime Minister, commissioning of the terminal will be in March, 2009. The passenger terminal will service 350 passengers. The planned investments will amount to 3 billion 751 million KZT. Now 3 billion 25 million KZT has been used.

The length of the runway of the airport now totals 2650 meters and will be increased up to 3050 meters and width - up to 60 meters that corresponds to the first category of the international standard and recommendation of International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO). The platform will be enlarged up to 60 meters.

Reconstruction of the runway and the platform will be made by concessionaires within the limits of the contract on confidential management. The planned investments into reconstruction will amount to 5 billion 687 million KZT.

Construction of the international air terminal and reconstruction of the runway will make the infrastructure of the airport correspond to the requirements of the international standards.
