Prime Minister of Kazakhstan held a number of meetings

The Prime Minister of Kazakhstan, Karim Masimov, held a number of meetings on Friday, the agency reports referring to the prime minister's press service.

Astana. October 6. Kazakhstan Today - The Prime Minister of Kazakhstan, Karim Masimov, held a number of meetings on Friday, the agency reports referring to the prime minister's press service.

According to the press service, K. Masimov met the President of Latvia, Valdis Zatlers. The interlocutors discussed condition and prospects of development of bilateral Kazakhstan-Latvian relations.

K. Masimov emphasized that Kazakhstan and Latvia need to make active economic cooperation in various spheres of economy and to promote expansion of interaction between business representatives.

The parties expressed mutual interest in development of economic mutual relations in energy, transport and agricultural industries, information and communication technologies, and in the sphere of education, public health services, tourism and sports.

"The parties noted that the potential of economic cooperation of Kazakhstan and Latvia allows transforming from carrying out of goods exchange operations to a qualitatively new form of cooperation - realization of the system of investment projects in various industries. V. Zatlers noted that intensification of cooperation in realization and further use of the transport corridor China - Kazakhstan - Russia - Baltic will open a gate for Kazakhstan to Europe and for Latvia - to Asia," the press release informs.

K. Masimov held the meeting with the adviser of World Bank for Kazakhstan, Graham Scott. The interlocutors discussed the questions of introduction of the new system of the state budgetary planning.
