Rates of GDP growth inspire optimism - Kazakh PM

Astana. August 15. Kazakhstan Today - Rates of GDP growth of Kazakhstan for I half-year 2006 inspire optimism. Kazakh PM Daniyal Akhmetov expressed this opinion today during the government session, the agency reports.

"Rates of GDP of Kazakhstan for I half-year 2006 have made 9.3 % inspiring optimism and is obviously a growing parameter in comparison with the last year," he considers.

Rates of industry growth have made 5.9 % within 7 months 2006. The highest gain of industry rates occurred in the II quarter of 2006 and made 19.3 % in comparison with I quarter, he noted.

"Rates of growth of manufacturing industry are increasing that inspires cautious optimism," he told, having emphasized that "rate of growth of manufacturing industry for I half-year has made 7.1 %, GDP growth of agriculture - 4.2 %.

External demand for Kazakhstan goods export grows basically due to the rise in prices for the basic mineral resources. "Import also grows due to the rise in prices that bears risks for inflationary processes," PM noted.
