Russia to protect the CSTO allies states in case of military aggression

Russia will protect the allies of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) in case of an armed attack. The CSTO Secretary General, Nikolay Bordyuzha, informed, commenting on the new military doctrine of Russia, the agency reports citing the press service of the Secretariat of the organization.

Moscow. February 9. Kazakhstan Today - Russia will protect the allies of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) in case of an armed attack. The CSTO Secretary General, Nikolay Bordyuzha, informed, commenting on the new military doctrine of Russia, the agency reports citing the press service of the Secretariat of the organization.

"We welcome this strategic document that reflect the new realities in the sphere of maintenance of military security. This document for CSTO is extremely important as strengthening of the system of collective safety and escalation of its potential are the primary goals of Russia in restraining and preventing conflicts," N. Bordyuzha said.

"The Russian Federation considers an armed attack to a CSTO member state as aggression against all CSTO member states and will undertake all the measures according to the Collective Security Contract."Thereby, the new military doctrine confirms adherence of Russia to allied obligations within the limits of the Organization of the Collective Security Contract," N. Bordyuzha underlined.

"The military doctrine also provides participation of Russia in all components of the CSTO system of collective security: Collective Rapid Response Forces, Collective Rapid Deployment Forces of the Central Asia Region and Peacekeeping Forces," N. Bordyuzha informed.
