Astana. August 13. Kazakhstan Today - Russia will insist on international investigation and bringing to account of the initiators of the conflict in South Ossetia. The Charge d'Affaires ad Interim of the Russian Federation in Kazakhstan, Vladimir Sprinchan, stated at the press conference on Tuesday in the Embassy of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Kazakhstan, the agency reports. "The Russian leadership considers that these actions are international crimes," V. Sprinchan emphasized.

"Recollecting recent events in the former Yugoslavia when the international community considered that actions of this or that side were international crimes, the special tribunal was created in Yugoslavia, which has been in operation until now," he said.

"So why the events, which have caused deaths of more than one and a half thousand ordinary people, deaths of peacemakers should remain unpunished?," the representative of the Russian Embassy said.

"The requests of the Russian leadership have been addressed to the international legal community. They will be considered by high international forums," V. Sprinchan said.
