SCO, UNESCAP Secretariats signed memorandum of mutual understanding

The Secretariats of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) and the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific Ocean (UNESCAP) signed the memorandum of mutual understanding in the office of SCO Secretariat in Pekin on Monday, the agency reports referring to the SCO Secretariat press service.

Almaty. January 22. Kazakhstan Today - The Secretariats of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) and the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific Ocean (UNESCAP) signed the memorandum of mutual understanding in the office of SCO Secretariat in Pekin on Monday, the agency reports referring to the SCO Secretariat press service.

According to the press service, SCO Secretary General Bolat Nurgaliyev and UNESCAP Executive Secretary signed the document.

"The memorandum provides concrete forms and spheres of mutually advantageous cooperation, including carrying out of consultations of experts with a view of review of realization of joint activity and discussion of the ways of further activization of communications and information interchange representing mutual interest," SCO Secretariat press service informed.

During the meeting the parties expressed intention to support regular contacts between SCO and UNESCAP. The parties exchanged the opinions on such spheres, as economy and trade, transport and communications, power, preservation of environment and steady development, information technologies and their application.

Now SCO and UNESCAP with assistance of the Asian Development Bank actively cooperate during preparation of the draft agreement between the governments of SCO member states on creation of favorable conditions for international automobile transportations.
