Security Council of Kazakhstan considered questions of modernization of migration and demographic policy

The next session of the Kazakhstan Security Council took place in Akorda under the chairmanship of the President of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev, to discuss the questions of modernization of the migration and demographic policy in Kazakhstan and the measures for counteraction of religious extremism, the agency reports citing the president's press service.

Kazakhstan Today - The next session of the Kazakhstan Security Council took place in Akorda under the chairmanship of the President of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev, to discuss the questions of modernization of the migration and demographic policy in Kazakhstan and the measures for counteraction of religious extremism, the agency reports citing the president's press service.

"We need to carry out an active and purposeful demographic policy to achieve the goals set in the strategic development plan of the country until 2020. In this connection, priority directions in this sphere are stimulation of birth rate of the population, reduction of deficit of places in the preschool and general educational organizations, death rate decrease, including maternity and infant mortality, strengthening of the institute of marriage and family, increase of life expectancy of Kazakhstan citizens, and carrying out of an effective immigration policy."

According to the press service, the measures to strengthen migration control and prevention of penetration into the country of members of criminal and extremist groups have been considered. The President drew attention to the necessity of solution of the existing problems in the internal migration at the governmental level.
