Situation in Kyrgyzstan to be one of main topics of Ministers of Foreign Affairs session in Tashkent

The situation in Kyrgyzstan will be one of the main topics of the next session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the SCO countries, which will take place on May 22 in Tashkent. The official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia, Andrey Nesterenko, informed on May 19, the agency reports citing RIA RosBusinessConsulting (RBC).

Kazakhstan Today - The situation in Kyrgyzstan will be one of the main topics of the next session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the SCO countries, which will take place on May 22 in Tashkent. The official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia, Andrey Nesterenko, informed on May 19, the agency reports citing RIA RosBusinessConsulting (RBC).

"The situation in this country, one the SCO founders, is of great importance for stability in the Central Asian region. The meeting participants plan to discuss measures on rendering to the Kyrgyz partners all the necessary support," A. Nesterenko said.

"The meeting participants will consider the questions of preparation for the coming in June, 2010 in Tashkent of the session of the Council of Leaders of the SCO States."

"The ministers will discuss and approve the projects of documents, decisions, and the project of the final declaration of the summit of the organization. The document will include the SCO approaches to the important international issues, including the questions of overcoming of the consequences of the global financial crisis, the reform of the international currency-financial system, disarmament, and non-proliferation of weapons of mass destruction, and coordination of efforts of the international community in rendering assistance to Afghanistan. The meeting participants will exchange opinions on the urgent regional and global problems, further strengthening of the SCO organization, expansion of its external relations, and the situation in Kyrgyzstan," A. Nesterenko informed.
