State Office of Public Prosecutor does not make comments on results of interrogation of pilots of Il-76

The State Office of Public Prosecutor of Kazakhstan has not make any comments on the results of interrogation of the pilots of Il-76. The official representative of the department, Nurdaulet Suindikov, informed today at a briefing in the State Office of Public Prosecutor, the agency reports.

The official representative of the department, Nurdaulet Suindikov, informed today at a briefing in the State Office of Public Prosecutor, the agency reports.

"The final decision concerning the results of the interrogation of the pilots of the plane Il-76 has not been made yet. As soon as there is a decision, the State Office of Public Prosecutor, or KNB will inform," N. Suindikov informed.

"This interrogation will be carried out after their arrival in Kazakhstan by the KNB Department of Almaty. Now, the pilots are at home with their families. The Belarus citizen has returned home," N. Suindikov specified.

All three pilots who had been released in Thailand - Alexander Zrybnev, Victor Abdullaev and Ilyas Isakov arrived in Shymkent on February, 14 by the morning train Almaty - Shymkent.

As informed earlier, the plane Il-76 of the Georgian airline Air West Georgia was detained at the airport Don Myang in Bangkok on December 12, 2009, where it landed to re-fuel on the way from Pyongyang. The arms forbidden to export from the Democratic People's Republic of Korea by the decision of the UN Security Council were found onboard of the plane: rocket-propelled grenades, surface-to-air missile launchers, and other weapons. The crew members - the citizen of Belarus and four citizens of Kazakhstan were detained and accused of illegal storage of weapons and its transportation through the Kingdom of Thailand territory.

The Thailand authorities have not made a decision yet in regards to the arrested cargo onboard of Il-76. Earlier, it was informed that weapons would be destroyed or be given to the Thai military men.
