Almaty. May 17. Kazakhstan Today - There is no humanitarian crisis in Kyrgyzstan. Special Envoy of the OSCE Chairman-in-Office for Kyrgyzstan Zhanibek Karibzhanov, informed during the Trans-Asiatic Parliamentary Forum Euroasian Dimension of OSCE, the agency reports.

"According to the UN analysis, there is no humanitarian crisis in Kyrgyzstan. Fuel, food, and items of primary necessity are delivered at sufficient level," Z. Karibzhanov said.

"Though, the situation has improved, especially from the point of view of decrease in the facts of marauding, the potential and confidence of representations of local and foreign business, there are still facts of marauding and corporate takeover of businesses or enterprises, including through intimidation," he informed.

According to the OSCE representative, there are also macroeconomic problems. "According to the local office of the International Monetary Fund, the provisional government has the sum of 200 million euro of the country reserves. However, big budgetary deficit (more than 20 % of GDP), is not a sufficient favorable climate for foreign investment/donor investments. Realization of the plans of reduction of prices for utilities is a serious potential for inflation growth. Repeated nationalization of some companies privatized during Bakiev's governing, as the provisional government considers, may scare the potential investors away," Z. Karibzhanov said.
