Astana. January 28. Kazakhstan Today - The U.S.A is planning to buy in Kazakhstan a significant portion of the goods to sustain their troops in Afghanistan, the U.S. Ambassador to Kazakhstan, Richard Haugland, informed in the US Embassy in Kazakhstan, the agency reports.

"In the near future, we plan to increase military contingent in Afghanistan up to 32 thousand people," Robert Haugland said.

"To do so, we need to build barracks for more troops, military personnel need to be fed, they need to have medicines and everything else for their activity," he explained.

"The agreement on transportation of non-military goods assumes transportation of such kind of transportation of goods by railroad," the US Ambassador said. "According to this agreement, we plan to make a significant part of purchase of these supplies in Kazakhstan," he said.
