US Air Base in Kyrgyzstan commander replaced

Colonel Rendel Oden who has finished his four-month service at Kyrgyzstan airport Manas has been replaced by Colonel, Murey Clark, directed here by the US Air Forces command.

The US Peter J. Gansi Air Base was opened in the territory of airport Manas in December, 2001 under the mandate of the United Nations within the limits of antiterrorist operation conducted by coalition forces - Indestructible Freedom in Afghanistan. About one thousand US military personnel and military-transport planes are located on the air base. The USA pays Kyrgyzstan $17.5 million annually for the armies located in the territory of the Republic.
