US representatives of Defense Ministry visit Kyrgyzstan

The first vice deputy of the Minister of Defense of the USA for Political Affairs Scott Schless accompanied by the military adviser colonel Christopher Lozo arrived in Bishkek for a two-day official visit on Wednesday, the agency reports referring to the press service of the US embassy in Kyrgyzstan.

Bishkek. October 18. Kazakhstan Today - The first vice deputy of the Minister of Defense of the USA for Political Affairs Scott Schless accompanied by the military adviser colonel Christopher Lozo arrived in Bishkek for a two-day official visit, the agency reports referring to the press service of the US embassy in Kyrgyzstan.

Scott Schless arriving together with the military adviser Christopher Lozo will hold meetings with the management of the Ministry of Defense, Foreign Affairs and Security Council," the Embassy of the USA informed.

The press service of the Ministry of Defense of Kyrgyzstan noted that the visitors from America will discuss with the Kyrgyzstan colleagues a wide spectrum of questions, concerning cooperation in the field of safety and defense. Among the subject matters of discussion "there can be the questions connected with the stay of the American air base on the territory of Kyrgyzstan, operating in structure of the antiterrorist coalition, as well as strengthening of cooperation for maintenance of safety in the Central Asian region."

As it was informed earlier, peace protest action, the participants of which will require withdrawal of the air base Manas from the territory of the Republic will take place today in the capital of Kyrgyzstan. During the protest it is planned to collect signatures in support to the idea, the chairman of the public fund named after Sergy Radonezhsky and Manas Velikodushny Igor Trofimov informed.

In his opinion, allocation of the Air Forces of the USA creates threat of attack of Kyrgyzstan in case of attack from Afghanistan, Iraq and Iran.
