USA hopes to sign agreement on transit of non-military cargoes to Afghanistan
Almaty. April 17. Kazakhstan Today - The United States of America hopes to sign the agreement with Turkmenistan on transit through the territory of this country of non-military cargoes to Afghanistan. American Assistant State Secretary, Richard Baucher, said in Ashkhabad, the agency reports citing RIA RosBusinessConsulting (RBC).
"The American diplomat met the President of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov, and discussed possibility of transit of cargoes for a military contingent of the USA in Afghanistan through the territory and air space of Turkmenistan," Associated Press informs.
"Washington has already obtained consent of Russia, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan to transit non-military cargoes to Afghanistan. America has to search for new routes of deliveries due to regular attacks of Talibs on the NATO lorries passing through the Afghan-Pakistan border and the recent decision of Kyrgyzstan to close the American air base Manas," RBC reminds.
