Uzbekistan invited USA observers to SCO summit

The government of Uzbekistan intends to assist in organization of participation of the American representatives in the Tashkent summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), which will take place in June, 2010, the agency reports citing REGNUM.

Almaty. February 1. Kazakhstan Today - The government of Uzbekistan intends to assist in organization of participation of the American representatives in the Tashkent summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), which will take place in June, 2010, the agency reports citing REGNUM.

One of the events of the plan of action on strengthening of bilateral cooperation between Uzbekistan and the USA for 2010 is rendering assistance by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan in organization of participation of the US representatives in the SCO summit in Tashkent with the consent of the SCO member states.

Uzbekistan presides in SCO. The plan that includes some specific measures of further development of mutual relations in the sphere of policy, safety, economy, human dimensions, and maintenance of peace and stability in Afghanistan, has been developed, following the results of the first round of the Uzbek-American political consultations taken place in Washington on December 17-18, 2009.

The Shanghai Cooperation Organization was organized on June 15, 2002. The organization includes - 6 member countries (Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, China, Uzbekistan, Russia, Tajikistan), 4 countries-observers (India, Iran, Mongolia, Pakistan) and two dialogue partners (Belarus and Sri Lanka).
