Uzbekistan President to pay two-day visit to Moscow

The President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov will pay a two-day visit to Moscow. It will be his first foreign visit after re-election in December of 2007, the agency reports.

Moscow. February 6. Kazakhstan Today - The President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov will pay a two-day visit to Moscow. It will be his first foreign visit after re-election in December of 2007, the agency reports.

The Uzbek leader will discuss prospects of mutual relations with the Russian President Vladimir Putin, the regional and international problems and the questions of cooperation within the limits of the international organizations.

The presidents are expected to make final decision on the Tashkent aviation production association named Chkalov and to conclude the contract on Tashkent aviation production association joining the structure of the Incorporated Avia building Corporation.

According to the source, Putin and Karimov will touch upon the question of the price of Uzbek gas. In the end of 2007, Gazprom agreed on the price of $160 for one thousand cubic meters, but only for the first half of 2008. What price there will be in the second half the year is not known yet. Tashkent plans to increase the price up to $190 for one thousand cubic meters.
