World Bank called upon leaders to reconsider G8 policy of developed countries concerning bio fuel

The President of World Bank (WB) Robert Zelik called upon to reconsider the policy of developed countries concerning bio fuel and increase of manufacture of foodstuffs, the agency reports referring to Russian service BBC.

Almaty. July 9. Kazakhstan Today - The President of World Bank (WB) Robert Zelik called upon to reconsider the policy of developed countries concerning bio fuel and increase of manufacture of foodstuffs, the agency reports referring to Russian service BBC.

WB President made a report in Japan at the summit of G8 leaders, the agenda of which includes the question of rise of prices of fuel and food stuffs.

G8 leaders held negotiations with the leaders of seven African countries.

The UN Secretary General Ban Ki Moon, who is taking part in the work of the meeting at high level, has called upon industrialized countries to engage in solution of problems of economic development, global climate change and high price of foodstuffs.

WB report states that manufacture of bio fuel has provoked rise of prices of foodstuffs.

"This summit should give hope to those who has nothing to eat," WB President stated.
