Yanukovych received in the second round of presidential elections 48.95 % of votes
Almaty. February 10. Kazakhstan Today - Following the results of processing by the Central Election Committee of Ukraine of electronic bulletins of 100 % of local election committees, the leader of Party of Regions, Victor Yanukovych, has received 48.95 % of votes in the second round of the presidential elections and the Prime Minister, Yulia Timoshenko - 45.47 %. 4.36 % of voters have not supported any candidate, the agency reports citing RIA RosBusinessConsulting (RBC).
Following the results of the first round of the presidential elections of Ukraine, V. Yanukovych received 35.32 % of votes and Y. Timoshenko - 25.05 %.
According to the Central Election Committee, participation in the first round of the presidential elections of Ukraine has been 66.76 % that is 24 million 588 thousand 264 voters. In the elections in 2004, participation was 74.92 % and in 1999 - 73.8 %.
Process of summation of the results of the second round of the presidential elections will come to an end within 10 days by February 17. The new head of state will assume his/her post within a month after the announcement of the results of the elections.
