20 alternative energy projects prepared in Kazakhstan

20 alternative energy projects planned to be realized within the limits of mechanisms of the Kyoto Protocol have been prepared. The Minister of the Environmental Protection Ministry, Nurgali Ashimov, informed at the session in the Ministry of Environmental Protection of Kazakhstan, the agency reports.

Astana. January 20. Kazakhstan Today - 20 alternative energy projects, planned to be realized within the limits of mechanisms of the Kyoto Protocol, have been prepared. The Minister of the Environmental Protection Ministry, Nurgali Ashimov, informed at the session in the Ministry of Environmental Protection of Kazakhstan, the agency reports.

"20 alternative energy projects, planned to be realized within the limits of the mechanisms of the Kyoto Protocol, were prepared in 2009," N. Ashimov informed.

"We are working with the Finnish Company Sepecal Oy, which plans to carry out the energy saving technology project of heat supply of buildings in Astana. Akimats of the cities will allocate the land for this project."

The government of Japan by the request of Kazakhstan will allocate some funds for installation of solar panels with the capacity of 1 MBt.

N. Ashimov reminded, Kazakhstan became the country of the Kyoto Protocol of Climate Change.
