Abai Opera was premiered in Germany

Almaty. September 27. Kazakhstan Today - Abai opera in the German language was premiered at the state theatre of German city Meiningen situated in Thuringia.

According to Caspionet, Kazakh conductor Alan Buribayev worked with the international performers. The premiere of the Kazakh opera drew a wide response of German audience. Demanding European audience watched Abai opera, the great work by composers of genius Akhmet Zhubanov and Latifa Khamidi. This incredible achievement in Kazakhstan's culture occurred as a result of the meeting between the heads of Kazakhstan and Germany in 2009, at which the necessity of establishing spiritual and cultural relation between the two countries was emphasized.

"Today we have enjoyed a wonderful opera by great Kazakh composers. The theme of the Abai opera cannot be affected by time, since it highlights tolerance and other eternal values," Fabian Giesder, Mayor of Meiningen said.

Opera singer of Korean nationality Dae-Hee Shin played the part of Abai in the German language.

"I was really glad to play the leading part in this wonderful Abai opera under the direction of great conductor Alan Buribayev. We all did a good job. It is great art," Dae-Heeshin, Opera singer said.

The Azhar's part was played by Brazilian Camila Ribero-Souza, who appeared on the stage for the first time at the age of 14 when she acted in the Phantom of the Opera musical. She received her musical education in Brazil and the UK. Now she sings in German city Meiningen, which is famous for its distinguished theatrical traditions.

"It is a very good performance and actors are inspired. It is a wonderful Kazakh opera, which should be given all over the world," Camila Ribero-Souza, Opera singer told.

The inspirer and creator of this historical performance in Europe is our countryman, famous Kazakhstan's conductor, head of the National Symphony Orchestra of Ireland Alan Buribayev.

"It is a great achievement and impressive victory! I had this idea for many years, I dreamt of presenting Kazakh operas in the West and here in Europe, and what we have done is incredible! Tears filled my eyes when I was conducting the opera and when the immortal music by Akhmet Zhubanov and Latif Hamidi was being played by the musicians whose approach to it was really sincere," Alan Buribayev, conductor (Kazakhstan) told.
