Accounts committee to preside in ECOSAI till 2010

Astana. October 30. Kazakhstan Today - The Accounts committee for control over execution of the republican budget of Kazakhstan will preside in the organization of Supreme Audit Institutions of ECO countries (ECOSAI) till 2010, the committee press service informed the agency.

According to the press service of the department, the question of presidency of the Accounts committee in ECOSAI till 2010 was considered at the general assembly of ECOSAI - Role of the supreme body of financial control (SBFC) in development of the economy. The candidature of Kazakhstan has been proposed by Court of accounts of Turkey, which presided in ECOSAI since 2003. The candidature of the Accounts committee has been supported by the unanimous decision of ECOSAI members. Thus, the chairman of the Accounts committee Omarkhan Oksikbayev has been selected the chairman of ECOSAI, the press release states.

As it was informed earlier, ECOSAI - the organization of the countries the supreme body of financial control of economic cooperation. Its structure includes SBFC of Kazakhstan, Turkey, Iran, Pakistan, Azerbaijan, Afghanistan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, and Turkmenistan. The chairman of ECOSAI is selected once in four years.

The Accounts committee is the supreme body of the state financial control directly subordinated and accountable to the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan. It carries out the external control and estimation of execution of the republican budget, use of grants, the assets of the state guaranteed by the state loans, money received for realization of official bodies of goods (works, services), remaining at their disposal.
