Almaty airport to eliminate private taxis

Following the meeting results it was decided to conduct joint raids in Almaty International Airport by all structures around the clock and on an ongoing basis.

Almaty. July 2. Kazakhstan Today - Almaty International Airport (AIA) will launch a campaign to counter illegal private taxi drivers, Kazakhstan Today reports.

According to the press service of the airport, on Wednesday, June 27, AIA held its second meeting on countering illegal private taxi drivers.

"Following the meeting results it was decided to conduct joint raids in Almaty International Airport by all structures around the clock and on an ongoing basis", the press-service states. Moreover, the raids will be increased during the "peak" hours of flights, especially international.

"It is also agreed to use joint patrols on the forecourt, where the main force will be on duty crew of the traffic police, as well as in the terminal, with joint collaboration with the LSP Airport Aviation Security Service officers at the Almaty airport", the press service said.

As noted at the airport, representatives of organizations "Almaty-taxi", "Garage Taxi" and "Commandir Taxi" were proposed to optimize their activity in the forecourt: toinstall taximeters, to align external and internal appearance of automobiles, to establish the work of dispatchers.
