American telecommunication satellite Sirius FM5 delivered to Baikonur

The plane An-124 Ruslan had landed at Yubileyny airport of the Baikonur cosmodrome on May, 26th at 10.10 Astana time, which delivered the American telecommunication satellite Sirius FM5 to the cosmodrome (Radiosat 5, Sirius-Radio FM-5), the agency reports citing Roscosmos press service.

Kazakhstan Today - The plane An-124 Ruslan had landed at Yubileyny airport of the Baikonur cosmodrome on May, 26th at 10.10 Astana time, which delivered the American telecommunication satellite Sirius FM5 to the cosmodrome (Radiosat 5, Sirius-Radio FM-5), the agency reports citing Roscosmos press service.

According to the press service, after all the customs procedures, the satellite was transported to the assembly and testing hangar of the platform 92А-50, where it will be prepared for launch.

The rocket Proton-M with the booster block Breeze-M and American telecommunication satellite Sirius FM5 will be launched in the beginning of July, 2009.

Sirius FM5 was made by company Loral (Space Systems Loral) on the basis of the platform LS-1300 by the order of the American operator Sirius-radio (Sirius XM Radio Inc). The satellite will work in the geostationary orbit for 15 years, providing telecommunication services.
