Astana Airport increases sanitary control over flu

According to the Ministry of Health, the incidence of influenza is under control in Astana.
The head of the Public Health Department of the city Astana, Sadvakas Baygabulov, made a commentary on the current influenza situation in Astana, the Department’s press office has announced.

From the beginning of 2019, 29 persons had influenza, including 8 children, in Astana. According to Sadvakas Baygabulov, everyone who was affected timely sought aid from medical organizations of the capital city and received full treatment preventing the development of complications in those affected.

Under the WHO’s recommendations, at least 10% of the population should be vaccinated to ensure a favorable situation around the incidence of influenza. Today, this figure has been achieved in Astana with 120 723 vaccinated persons.

I urge Astana citizens to check the status of infectious diseases in the far or near abroad countries they plan to pay business tours or journeys to. Thus, Georgia observes a high level of the incidence of influenza, there have been lethal cases, education institutions are shut down," said Sadvakas Baygabulov.

Taking into consideration the regular flights between Tbilisi and Astana, the Airport increased sanitary and quarantine control as preventive measures against influenza.

With help of medical televisions, air arrivals from Georgia, including crew members, undergo contactless thermometry (temperature measurement).

Examination is underway, no recorded flu cases among air passengers so far. The Public Health Protection Service of Astana oversees the situation," said the head of the Department.
