Astana akim elected MAG first vice President

Astana akim has been elected the first vice President of the International Assembly of capitals and big cities (MAG), the session of which took place in the capital of Bashkortostan Ufa, the agency reports referring to the press service of Astana akim.

Astana. October 1. Kazakhstan Today - Astana akim has been elected the first vice President of the International Assembly of capitals and big cities (MAG), the session of which took place in the capital of Bashkortostan Ufa, the agency reports referring to the press service of Astana akim.

"Yury Luzhkov, mayor of Moscow, was elected MAG President and Askar Mamin, Astana akim, was elected the first vice President at the 11th session of the International Assembly of capitals and big cities," the press service informed.

During the session the MAG structure included 6 cities, among which are Zaporozhye, Izhevsk, Lugansk, Оsh, Ryazan and Suhum. Thus, the number of cities-members of the organization reached 70.

As it was informed earlier, the session participants discussed MAG role in maintenance of strategic planning and practical realization of town-planning concepts of development of large cities. Round tables, devoted to the activity of institutions of local government, informatization of municipal government and introduction of advanced medical technologies have been organized.
