The basic crew of the manned ship Soyuz TMA-12 that will be launched on April 8 to the International Space Station (ISS) has been approved at Baikonur, the agency reports.

Baikonur. April 7. Kazakhstan Today - The basic crew of the manned ship Soyuz TMA-12 that will be launched on April 8 to the International Space Station (ISS) has been approved at Baikonur, the agency reports.

The state commission held the session today at 10.00 a.m. local time in the conference hall of the universal training complex Cosmonaut to sum up the final stage of pre-starting preparation of the crews of the cosmonauts taken place at Baikonur since March 26.

On the basis of the presented reports the state commission made the decision on the basic and back-up crews of the expedition to ISS.

The main crew in the structure of: the ISS commander, commander of Soyuz TMA-12 - Sergey Volkov (Russian Federation), ISS flight engineer, flight engineer of Soyuz TMA-12 - Oleg Kononenko (Russian Federation), the participant of space flight - Li So En (South Korea).

The launch of the manned ship Soyuz TMA-12 with the crew of the 17th basic expedition and the 14th expedition is planned for April 8 at 17.16 p.m. Astana time (15.16 p.m. Moscow time) from the platform №1 of the cosmodrome.
