Blessed Fire from Jerusalem arrived in Almaty
Almaty. April 28. Kazakhstan Today - The Blessed Fire from Jerusalem has arrived in Almaty by special Sayahat airlines flight, the agency reports referring to the press service of the Russian orthodox church of Astana and Almaty Diocese.
"The flight from Tel Aviv arrived today in Almaty. The fire has been delivered to Voznesensky cathedral for the Divine Liturgy. After the service the member of higher orders of clergy Mefody gave the fire out to parishioners," the press service informed.
The parishioners, who have come for the morning service to the cathedral, lit the candles from the sacred fire.
As it was informed earlier, the Blessed Fire is lit every year before Easter in the Temple of God in Holy Jerusalem.
The Blessed Fire is traveled worldwide every year. Today it arrived in Almaty for the first time. But, as church attendants hope, they will be able to bring the Blessed Fire to Kazakhstan in the following years.
