Booster block Frigate delivered to Baikonur

Booster block Frigate intended for taking the satellites GlobalStar out to the orbit has been delivered to Baikonur, the agency reports referring to the press service of the Federal Space Center Baikonur.

Baikonur. September 20. Kazakhstan Today - Booster block Frigate intended for taking the satellites GlobalStar out to the orbit has been delivered to Baikonur, the agency reports referring to the press service of the Federal Space Center Baikonur.

According to the information of the press service, the containers with booster block Frigate, delivered by air plane AN-124 Ruslan to the air station Yubileyny, have been transported to the assembly-test body of platform 31 on September 18, where launch preparation of the booster block will be carried out.

The system of satellite communication GlobalStar was developed by the consortium of the international telecommunication companies to grant high-quality satellite services to a wide range of users, including voice communication, service of short messages, roaming, facsimile communication, and data transmission.

Satellite grouping GlobalStar will consist of 48 working and 4 spare satellites locating in the low orbit, at the height of 1414 km from the surface of the Earth.

The next launch of the booster rocket Soyuz-FG with the booster block Frigate and four telecommunication satellites GlobalStar has been scheduled for October, 2007.
