Cargo spacecraft launched to International Space Station

Baikonur. January 18. Kazakhstan Today - Today at 8.12 a.m. Astana time booster rocket Soyuz with cargo spacecraft Progress M-59 was launched from the cosmodrome Baikonur, the Federal Space Center informed the agency.

"The booster rocket was launched at the scheduled time," the source said.

As it was informed earlier, the first launch in 2007 is devoted to 100 year anniversary of the founder of the Russian rocket technology Sergey Korolev.

Cargo vehicle Progress M-59 is to deliver about two tons of cargoes: fuel components, water and foodstuff for cosmonauts of 14th basic expedition, scientific equipment and consumed cargoes to the International Space Station.
